Under deadly threats, the victim transferred hundreds of thousands of pounds in cryptocurrency to the robbers' digital wallet, who also stole Rolex watches. Police have not yet arrested any suspects.

Three masked individuals broke into the home of a cryptocurrency investor in Britain, beat him with hammers in front of his pregnant wife, and threatened to murder her and her unborn child if he did not transfer his money. The victim, referred to in the report as "James," transferred hundreds of thousands of pounds in cryptocurrency to a digital wallet belonging to a person he was in contact with via a video call. The attackers also stole Rolex watches and fled with a getaway driver. According to Chainalysis, by June 2026 approximately $30 million had been stolen in violent robberies related to cryptocurrency, and 2026 is expected to be a record year for such attacks. Police have not yet identified suspects; the Crimestoppers organization is offering a £10,000 reward for information.
