Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara and State Attorney Amit Isman have decided that MK Itzik Kroizer (Otzma Yehudit) will be questioned under caution on suspicion of aggravated assault of a police officer. The incident occurred about two weeks ago in Mitzpe Yericho, during which four officers were injured. Kroizer filed a complaint against the officers with the Police Internal Investigations Department.
Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara and State Attorney Amit Isman have decided that MK Itzik Kroizer (Otzma Yehudit) will be questioned under caution on suspicion of aggravated assault of a police officer. The decision followed an incident that took place about two weeks ago in Mitzpe Yericho, during which Kroizer clashed with police officers. According to police sources, he attacked an officer and was involved in an incident that ended with the officer's broken nose. Four officers were injured in the event. After the initial publication in Haaretz newspaper, Kroizer approached the Police Internal Investigations Department to file a complaint against the officers, claiming they had attacked him. Kroizer stated he delayed filing the complaint for 11 days due to the holiday and election campaign workload. Investigators refrained from taking his testimony, and Kroizer claimed this was on the Attorney General's instruction. i24NEWS learned that the instruction indeed came from her, to avoid conflicting and duplicate testimonies. It was decided to delay receiving his testimony in order to take a single statement before a joint investigation team that would investigate both his complaint and the officers' complaint against him. Kroizer wrote on his X account: "Police Internal Investigations Department and the Attorney General - what are you afraid of?" and demanded that his complaint be accepted and investigated immediately.
