Attacked with a beet, half a watermelon and baskets: indictment against two young men

An indictment has been filed against two young men, residents of Ramat HaSharon and Or Yehuda, for an unusual assault at a kiosk in Ramat HaSharon at the end of August. According to the indictment, the two beat the victim with plastic baskets, attempted to attack him with half a watermelon, and threw a beet at him. The victim was injured and evacuated to Meir Hospital.

According to the indictment, the incident began with a verbal argument between the defendants and the victim, Eden, outside the business. After the victim went inside to get away, the defendants followed him in and began the assault. Defendant 1 swung half a watermelon that was on the counter at him, but another person stopped him. Subsequently, the two used plastic baskets, crates, and later a beet, which Defendant 1 threw at the victim's body. The assault continued outside the business, where Defendant 2 punched the victim. The victim managed to escape back inside, and the defendants fled. As a result of the assault, the victim suffered a cut on his head and swelling around his eye, and was evacuated to Meir Hospital. The police arrested the two after an investigation, and a request was filed for their detention until the end of proceedings.
