Mustafa Jabarin, an 18-year-old from Umm al-Fahm, was indicted today (Friday) for planning an attack against an IDF soldier. According to the indictment, Jabarin equipped himself with a knife, concealed it in his coat, and traveled to Jerusalem with the intent to kill a soldier. He lay in ambush near the bus stop at the Flower Gate in the Old City, but when he did not find a soldier alone, he returned home with the knife. The decision to carry out the attack was made following his anger over publications regarding the removal of head coverings of security prisoners in Israeli prisons. Jabarin swore allegiance to ISIS at least three times, consumed propaganda content of the organization, and searched online for guides on making explosive devices. During his interrogation, he admitted to planning the attack and the oaths of allegiance, but retracted parts of his statements several times. Digital evidence found during his arrest strengthened the suspicion.
