Various areas in the West Bank and Gaza Strip witnessed, on Saturday, attacks that resulted in the arrest of a citizen and injuries to others, along with the death of two girls from burns due to a fire that broke out in a tent for the displaced south of the Strip. In the Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate, occupation forces arrested citizen Muhammad Hazem Samhan (35 years old) while he was picking olives in the village of Ras Karkar, and seized agricultural tools belonging to citizen Naseem Muhammad Abu Alia in the eastern al-Mughayyir valley. Security sources told the Palestinian news agency Wafa that occupation forces set up military checkpoints at the entrances to the villages and towns of Sinjil, Turmus Ayya, Deir Abu Mash'al, Yabrud, and Deir Dibwan. In the central Gaza Strip, four citizens were injured by occupation forces' fire in the Maghazi camp, while medical sources announced the martyrdom of two citizens in Gaza City and the Nuseirat camp, one of them from wounds sustained in a previous bombing. In the south of the Strip, the two girls Habiba Zanoun and Aysel Abu Suhaiban died from their injuries due to a fire that broke out last evening in a tent housing displaced persons in the Mawasi Khan Younis area. Fire incidents recur in displacement camps in the Gaza Strip, leaving victims and injured, including children, amid harsh living conditions and families living in tents lacking safety and security conditions.
