Another country withdraws from Eurovision 2027

The Czech Republic has officially withdrawn from Eurovision 2027. The public broadcaster Česká televize will not send a representative to Burgas and will not broadcast the competition. The reason is massive budget cuts: in 2027, the broadcaster plans to reduce expenses by 350 million Czech crowns (about 14 million euros). The decision is not related to Israel's participation.

The Czech Republic has officially withdrawn from Eurovision 2027. The public broadcaster Česká televize announced this on Tuesday, October 6. The country will not send a representative to Burgas, Bulgaria, where the competition will be held, and will not broadcast the event. The reason is massive budget cuts: in 2027, the broadcaster plans to reduce expenses by approximately 350 million Czech crowns (about 14 million euros). The cuts will affect not only Eurovision but also the broadcaster's staff and other production projects. The Czech Republic's decision is not related to Israel's participation in the competition, unlike several other countries. In September, Ireland already announced its withdrawal from Eurovision 2027, citing 'ongoing loss of life and humanitarian crisis in Gaza.' The Czech Republic last participated in Eurovision in 2026 in Vienna, where it was represented by Daniel Žižka with the song 'Crossroads,' finishing 16th. Eurovision 2027 will be held in Burgas after Bulgaria's victory. The semi-finals are scheduled for May 11 and 13, with the final on May 15.
