On Tuesday morning, Israeli occupation forces demolished a commercial facility belonging to the al-Qawasmi family in the city of al-Khalil, covering an area of about 700 square meters, which was used for selling and repairing car parts. Adel al-Qawasmi, the brother of the facility's owner, said the family was surprised by the arrival of troops and bulldozers despite receiving repeated verbal notices over the past period, and that the last verbal notification preceded the demolition by about ten days, without them being handed any written notice or official judicial order. He added that family members asked the soldiers to show the demolition order, but they refused and claimed they had already informed them of the decision, then gave them a period of no more than 15 minutes before starting the demolition without allowing them to remove equipment, car parts, and work supplies. This incident comes in the context of al-Khalil Governorate topping demolition notices in the West Bank, recording 2,697 demolition notices out of 9,518 over the last decade, reflecting the economic and social burdens resulting from Israeli demolition operations.
