Airports Authority against May Golan: "Exploitation, violation of procedures"

The Israel Airports Authority accused Minister May Golan of violating security procedures at Ben-Gurion Airport after she brought her mother into the El Al lounge without a security check, exploiting her exemption. The Authority stated that the arrangement is intended for ministers only and constitutes exploitation and a blatant violation of procedures. N12 learned that Golan spoke with a senior Authority official on the way to the airport.

The Israel Airports Authority accused Minister May Golan this morning of violating security procedures at Ben-Gurion Airport. According to the allegations, Golan brought her mother, Rimona, into the airport before a flight to the Czech Republic, exploiting her exemption and without her mother undergoing a security check. The two were in the El Al lounge, where they were documented eating lunch. The Airports Authority clarified that the arrangement is intended for ministers only and does not permit the entry of family members, and that this constitutes exploitation and a blatant violation of procedures. They further emphasized that no representative of theirs authorized the incident. N12 learned that on the way to the airport, Golan spoke with a Likud Central Committee member who holds a managerial position at the Authority, discussing the possibility of entry for her mother. The official confirmed the conversation but denied assisting her. Documentation of the minister at the airport reached journalist Uri Misgav of Haaretz. This is not the first time the minister and her family have been linked to controversial incidents: in September 2025, her mother was investigated on suspicion of fraud, and the minister then called the process a "political investigation."
