Israelis are no longer being evacuated from Dubai — Arkia CEO explains why

Israeli airlines, including Arkia, El Al, and Israir, have lost their permits to operate flights from Dubai. Arkia CEO Oz Berlowitz linked this to the suspension of Flydubai flights to Israel, citing "matters of honor" in the Middle East. Hundreds of passengers remain stranded in Dubai and are seeking alternative routes.

Israeli airlines Arkia, El Al, and Israir have lost permission from UAE authorities to operate flights from Dubai. Arkia CEO Oz Berlowitz explained in an interview that this decision is tied to the suspension of Flydubai flights to Israel. According to him, until Flydubai is allowed to resume, Emirati authorities will not permit Israeli carriers to fly, citing "matters of honor" in the Middle East. As a result, hundreds of passengers are stranded in Dubai and forced to seek complex return routes. Berlowitz stated that Arkia is refunding tickets and offering passengers return flights on the company's services from other countries. He also confirmed that the company charged for baggage but emphasized it remains responsible until delivery home, promising refunds if the state compensates expenses.
