President Isaac Herzog has tasked Gadi Eisenkot with forming the government. Ahead of receiving the mandate, Eisenkot decided to appoint Roi Folkman as chairman of the Knesset Arrangements Committee. Folkman, who previously served as chairman of the Kulanu faction in the 20th Knesset and left politics in 2019, will also be appointed chairman of the Yashar! faction in the Knesset. The role of chairman of the Arrangements Committee grants significant influence over the composition of permanent committees and the Knesset's work procedures, thereby affecting the pace of legislation. Representation on the committee will be proportional to faction size, so Yashar! will have the largest representation. If Eisenkot fails to form a government, the committee chairmanship will pass to other hands.
