"Against the occupation" and condolences "to the martyrs": These are Moshe Lion's guests at the education conference
The Jerusalem Municipality will host an international education conference featuring Udi Edelman, who signed a letter calling for an end to the occupation, and Samir Mahamid, mayor of Umm al-Fahm, whose municipality published condolences to the families of terrorists. Mayor Moshe Lion welcomed the conference.
The Jerusalem Municipality, headed by Moshe Lion, will host next week, on November 9 and 10, the International Education Conference at Binyanei Ha'Uma. A check by C14 reveals that among the participants are Udi Edelman, who signed a 2014 letter calling for an end to the occupation and accusing Israel of nationalist and military propaganda, and Dr. Samir Mahamid, mayor of Umm al-Fahm, in whose name a condolence message was published for the families of the perpetrators of the 2022 Hadera attack. Edelman is a former curator and art researcher, and Mahamid has previously opposed the recruitment of Arabs into the IDF. Lion welcomed the conference, stating that it provides a platform for open dialogue on educational vision. The Jerusalem Municipality stated that a person's participation in the conference does not constitute an endorsement of their views.
