The New York Times published an article about the IDF's investigation, according to which 170 Palestinians presented as journalists in Gaza were members of terrorist organizations. The newspaper cross-referenced 78 names, but alongside the findings, it also presented the claims of human rights organizations against Israel. Most major media outlets worldwide have not yet addressed the findings.
The New York Times published, more than a day after the IDF released its findings, an article about the military's investigation, which claims that 170 Palestinians killed in Gaza and presented as journalists were actually operatives in terrorist organizations. The newspaper cross-referenced 78 names from the Israeli list, noting difficulties in spelling and transliteration. Alongside presenting Israel's position, the Times emphasized the claims of human rights organizations that Israel is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of other media personnel not included in the list. According to the IDF, 118 of the dead served in Hamas's military wing, 49 in the Islamic Jihad, and 17 participated in the October 7 attack. Most major media outlets worldwide have not yet addressed the findings, despite the distribution of the materials.
