After management change: Medica Tel Aviv returns to partial surgical activity

The Ministry of Health has authorized the Medica Tel Aviv Medical Center to resume partial surgical activity, about a month after it was shut down due to serious deficiencies. The approval permits only health-basket surgeries, while the ban on cosmetic surgeries remains in effect. The decision was made after correcting deficiencies and a management change, with the appointment of Dr. Eitan Hai-Am as CEO.

About a month after its surgical activity was suspended due to serious deficiencies, the Medica Tel Aviv Medical Center received approval to resume limited operations. The Ministry of Health permitted only health-basket surgeries to resume, while the ban on cosmetic surgeries remains in effect. The closure order was issued on September 28 after a surprise inspection revealed deviations from medical procedures, including the performance of medical procedures by unauthorized personnel and deficiencies in operating rooms. The approval was granted after significant deficiencies were corrected and following a management change: CEO Anat Nussbaum left, and Dr. Eitan Hai-Am, former director general of the Ministry of Health, was appointed in her place. The Ministry of Health emphasized that it will continue to supervise the center's operations.
