The Reservists and Economic Party, led by Yoaz Hendl and Prof. Yaron Zalicha, sees an opportunity in Benny Gantz's withdrawal from the race for the 26th Knesset and is working to recruit his activists and voters. According to party sources, prominent field activists from Blue and White are moving to operate within its framework, and last week Hendl and Zalicha met with leaders of Blue and White's Ethiopian community headquarters who announced their support. The party is focusing its paid promotion activities on audiences identified with Gantz's voters. It was also learned that party sources approached Gantz requesting he express public support for Hendl, arguing that he is the only one who can ensure the establishment of a Zionist government not dependent on the Haredi and Arab parties. Gantz announced his withdrawal in a statement at Kfar HaMaccabiah, called for the establishment of a cross-bloc Zionist unity government, and warned against deepening the rift in Israeli society.
