Actress Selma Blair was arrested late Sunday night at John F. Kennedy International Airport after she was accused of assaulting two flight attendants aboard a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to New York. Police detained Blair at around 11 p.m. after the plane parked at the gate. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirmed that Blair and one of the flight attendants were taken to a hospital for evaluation. The FBI issued a notice charging Blair with assault, and the matter will be handled through petty violations court in federal court in Brooklyn. No court date has been set. A representative for Blair told the Associated Press that the actor experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Delta stated it has zero tolerance for unruly behavior. This is not Blair's first in-flight incident; in 2016 she apologized for statements made during a flight after mixing alcohol with medication. Blair, who is Jewish and has been outspoken against antisemitism, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018. She recently appeared at an ADL event in New York.
