Abdo to "Filastin": About 3.4% of the Strip's population have been martyred during the genocide

Dr. Rami Abdo, head of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, says that about 3.4% of the population of the Gaza Strip have been martyred during the genocide, which he describes as a systematic and large-scale campaign. He points out that 75,000 Palestinians have been martyred and more than 175,000 injured as of October 5, 2026, with the continuation of the Israeli approach of killing and restrictions on food and medicine.

Dr. Rami Abdo, head of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, said in an interview with the newspaper "Filastin" that what the occupation has been committing in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, is a systematic and large-scale genocide campaign. He relies on documented data indicating that about 75,000 Palestinians have been martyred and more than 175,000 injured as of October 5, 2026, at a rate of 70 martyrs and 160 wounded daily. He notes that about 3.4% of the Strip's population have been martyred, i.e., one out of every 30 Palestinians, and that one out of every 13 has been injured. Abdo asserts that Israel continued its genocide approach even after the ceasefire took effect in October 2025, through killing, injuries, and restrictions on food, medicine, and shelter materials. He points out that women have paid a double price, with more than 12,500 women martyred, and thousands of pregnant women giving birth without anesthesia. Abdo also criticizes Western support for Israel, especially from the United States, Germany, and Britain, which enabled the continuation of the crime.
