A year after the sudden death of Hollywood action star and stuntman Richard Norton, an official report by the Australian coroner has revealed the cause of death. Norton, who died in March 2025 at age 75 at his home in Melbourne, suffered an acute allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) and cardiac arrest after injecting himself with a combination of peptides – CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin – intended to stimulate growth hormone secretion. These substances are not approved for medical use by the FDA or the Australian regulator. Norton, who appeared in over 80 films and series and collaborated with Chuck Norris and Jackie Chan, admitted to a nurse days before his death that he was taking double the prescribed dose. The coroner called for tighter regulation of peptide marketing and restrictions on their registration.
