A year after the inferno: Rom Breslavsky in a chilling post from the Selichot at the Western Wall

In the post, he apologizes for moments of weakness in captivity, declares unwavering faith, and emphasizes the contrast between being a Prisoner of Zion in Deir al-Balah a year ago and his freedom at the Wall today.

Former hostage Rom Breslavsky, who returned from the inferno in Gaza, arrived last night (Saturday) at the Selichot prayer ceremony at the Western Wall plaza. Breslavsky published a particularly moving personal post in which he shared his feelings and the introspection he underwent, looking back on the long months he spent in captivity. In the post, he writes: "May the Holy One, blessed be He, forgive me. Father in heaven, I have come to the Western Wall in our beautiful land to say sorry to you. Sorry that I didn't do more at Nova, sorry for all the times in captivity that I broke down, that I doubted, that I lost faith." He adds, referring to the faith that accompanied him: "I always knew in captivity that you would save me. I always knew that you would not let me stay in Gaza. I felt you with me in Gaza day by day, hour by hour." In conclusion, he notes the stark difference: "A year ago, on last Yom Kippur, I was a Prisoner of Zion in Deir al-Balah. And today I am free at the Wall."
