The Dodo Ezra Group, which owns the Shuk HaHertzel chain, has completed the acquisition of the Stop Market supermarket chain for a valuation of approximately NIS 680 million. The deal was approved by the Competition Authority on October 11, 2026. Bank Hapoalim provided the group with financing of about NIS 500 million. The two chains will continue to operate separately, and customers will continue to see both brands. Stop Market, founded about 26 years ago by Yossi Mashiach, operates 11 branches nationwide and employs about 900 workers. Shuk HaHertzel operates 12 branches. Together, the two chains operate 23 branches. The group plans to open ten new branches in the coming year, including in Yehud, Kiryat Shmona, Hatzor HaGlilit, Katzrin, Ma'alot, Amiad, Tirat Carmel, Ramat Yishai, Kibbutz HaZore'a, and Acre, with an emphasis on the north. The group's annual sales volume after the acquisition is estimated at about NIS 1.5 billion, with a target of reaching about NIS 2 billion by the end of 2027. Integrating the procurement, trade, and logistics systems may strengthen purchasing power vis-à-vis suppliers and reduce costs, but no data was provided on the expected savings. It is unclear how the acquisition will affect consumer prices.
