The 'Yad Ezer La'Chaver' association held a national memorial ceremony in Haifa today (Wednesday, October 7, 2026) marking three years since the October 7, 2023 attack and the 'Swords of Iron' war. The ceremony took place at the monument plaza on Kassel Street in the Hadar neighborhood, at the association's 'Kiryat Hesed'. Participants included bereaved families, Holocaust survivors, Nova festival survivors, male and female soldiers, security forces from the IDF and Israel Police, ambassadors and diplomats from dozens of countries, and public figures. The ceremony was hosted by elite unit fighter, singer, and 'Fauda' actor Nadav Yaeish. Speeches were given by MK and former Chief of Staff Benny Gantz, association founder Dr. Shimon Sabag, and Yairit Shoshan, founder of the SOS Israel association. During the ceremony, a torch, a flame, and an eternal flame were lit in memory of the murdered and fallen. The 'October 7' Museum was established, featuring personal items, testimonies, exhibits, and films from the events. The ceremony included a moment of silence and stories of heroism from soldiers wounded on October 7.
