255 buildings at risk of collapse in Gaza.. Urgent call to evacuate families and save lives

The National and Islamic Forces, represented by the Reconstruction and Damage Assessment Committee in Gaza, issued an urgent appeal to rescue families living in 255 partially destroyed or cracked buildings at risk of collapse. The committee warned that the buildings house children, women, and the elderly, and called for immediate funding for evacuation, shelter, and removal of threatened buildings, as well as providing heavy equipment and engineering teams, and establishing temporary shelters.

The committee warned on Wednesday that these buildings house entire families of children, women, and the elderly, and called for urgent and immediate funding to implement a plan for evacuation, shelter, and removal of buildings at risk of collapse, to avoid repeating tragedies like what happened in the Saada building. The committee demanded the provision of heavy equipment and specialized engineering teams to ensure safe removal operations, along with urgent contributions to establish and equip temporary shelters that preserve the dignity of families to be evacuated. The committee stressed the need for immediate action, warning that every hour of delay puts a family's life at risk, and called for urgent measures to protect residents before casualties occur under the rubble.
