"Zionist occupiers": The frightening incident of the Israeli couple in Vienna
Hadar and Chen Barti, an Israeli couple from Ashkelon, experienced a frightening incident in Vienna when a stranger banged on their Airbnb door and shouted 'Zionist occupiers.' The local police did not help, and another couple rescued them to a hotel.
Hadar and Chen Barti, an Israeli couple from Ashkelon, went on a romantic vacation in Vienna and rented an Airbnb apartment in a seemingly safe neighborhood, near a synagogue. Yesterday (Saturday) around 6:00 PM, a stranger began banging hard on the apartment door. When Hadar's husband asked who he was and what he wanted, the man became agitated and shouted 'Zionists, Zionist occupiers.' The banging intensified, and the couple panicked. They tried to contact the embassy through their family. When they heard the man going down the stairs, they saw him hiding with tools in his hands. They called the police, who arrived, said the man was not there, and asked them to call again if he returned. The man did return, and the couple called in hysteria, but the officers were angry with them. Another Israeli couple living in Vienna rescued them and drove them to a hotel. The apartment owner refused to refund the money for the remaining days. The couple describes a crazy sense of deja vu and admits they were not physically harmed.
