Young man shot dead in the south, suspicion: murdered over land dispute

A 20-year-old resident of Shgav Shalom was shot dead this evening (Monday) in the community. At 21:16, a report was received at the MDA 101 emergency hotline about an injured person brought to a local clinic after apparently being involved in a violent incident. Medics and paramedics provided medical treatment and evacuated him to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva, where his death was determined. According to the initial suspicion, the background to the incident is a dispute over a plot of land. Another person was moderately injured from the shooting. The police have opened an investigation, collecting evidence and conducting searches to locate suspects. According to the suspicion, the background is criminal, within a family feud. A senior MDA medic described that the injured person was unconscious without a pulse or breathing, and resuscitation efforts were performed.
