Yoaz Hendel: "I'm afraid the Change Bloc will sit with the Haredim in the name of 'Anyone but Bibi'"
Chairman of the Reservists and Economic Party, Yoaz Hendel, expresses concern in an interview that the Change Bloc will form a government with the help of the Haredim under the slogan "Anyone but Bibi." Hendel attacks Ofer Winter for his alliance with Netanyahu and the Haredim, and refuses to commit to recommending Gantz for prime minister despite the polls. He warns of the country's disintegration by 2048 without a change in conscription policy.
Chairman of the Reservists and Economic Party, Yoaz Hendel, was interviewed on the "Sari and Shlezinger" podcast at the Walla studio and expressed grave concern that the Change Bloc would form a government with the help of the Haredi parties. "I'm afraid that the day after, 'Aguda' will come and tell them 'we'll complete your 61 seats,' and they won't cancel the conscription for everyone," Hendel said, explaining that the fear is that in the name of "Anyone but Bibi," they will establish a committee instead of promoting equal conscription. Hendel refused to commit to recommending Gantz for prime minister even though polls indicate he is the candidate who would garner the most votes from Zionist parties. He attacks Ofer Winter, chairman of "Amcha Yisrael," for his alliance with Netanyahu and the Haredim, and revealed that he offered him an excess vote agreement. Hendel warns of the country's disintegration by 2048 if there is no change in conscription and governance policy, describing a scenario of "Arab autonomies lacking law and order, polygamy, protection rackets, Haredi shtetls." He admits that the gaps between him and the Democrats party are very large and unlikely to be bridged, due to his support for settlement and opposition to a Palestinian state. Hendel explains the surprising alliance with economist Yaron Zelicha as a combination of conscription and cost of living issues.
