Yair Golan in recording: "We must not form a government with Likud - even without Netanyahu"

Yair Golan was recorded at a Democratic Party faction meeting opposing the formation of a government with Likud, even without Netanyahu. In recordings published by Kan News, Golan called Likud members "draft dodgers," "extreme nationalists," and "corrupt," and described a strike on Iran as a "crazy move."

Democratic Party chairman Yair Golan was recorded at the last faction meeting before the elections expressing opposition to forming a government with Likud, even without Benjamin Netanyahu. In recordings published by Kan News, Golan is heard saying: "Our position is very clear. No compromises. We must form a government without the draft dodgers, without the extreme nationalists who are truly destroying our home, and of course without the corrupt." Golan personally attacked Yoav Kisch and Shlomo Karhi, and described a strike on Iran as "a crazy move whose sole purpose is to extricate the boss from his personal, political, and legal entanglements." The article notes that at the end of last month, the heads of the change bloc met at Yair Lapid's home and signed a joint principles document, but the next day disagreements emerged over the understandings, particularly regarding the identity of the candidate for prime minister. A campaign by Gadi Eisenkot presented the elections as a struggle between him and Netanyahu, sparking anger in other parties.
