Xiaomi launches new smartphone that will protect you from prying eyes

Xiaomi has announced its flagship Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max series, featuring an AMOLED screen with physical privacy protection that prevents side glances. The devices are equipped with the first-of-its-kind Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor in a 2nm architecture, a silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of up to 8,500mAh, and a dual Leica camera setup of 200 megapixels. The series will launch later this year in Israel as well.

Xiaomi has announced its new flagship series, the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, at a launch event in China. The highlight is a 6.4-inch (Pro) or 6.9-inch (Pro Max) main AMOLED screen with Super Pixel 2.0 technology, which darkens the display for anyone looking from the side, eliminating the need for privacy screen protectors. The selfie camera scans for prying eyes within a radius of about one meter and triggers a vibration alert. The devices are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor, the world's first in a 2nm architecture at 5.0GHz. The camera setup includes two 200-megapixel Leica cameras with 3.2x optical zoom. The Pro Max model features an 8,500mAh battery with 100W wired charging. Prices in China start at 5,999 yuan for the Pro model and 6,999 yuan for the Pro Max model. The series is expected to reach international markets and Israel later this year.
