Polish racing driver Miko Marczyk set a Guinness world record this week for the longest range of a standard electric car between charges, driving 1,338 km in an Audi A6 e-tron Sportback. The record was achieved thanks to numerous descents that allowed optimal use of the regenerative braking system, which generates energy for the battery. The previous record stood at 1,205 km.

Polish racing driver Miko Marczyk set a new Guinness world record this week for the longest range of a standard electric car between charges, driving 1,338 kilometers in an Audi A6 e-tron Sportback. The previous record, which stood at 1,205 kilometers, was set last year by a driver in a Lucid Air. Marczyk drove from Zakopane to Krakow, a route that includes numerous descents that allowed optimal use of the regenerative braking system, which generates 220 kW and charges the battery. The official range of the model is up to 770 kilometers. The technique Marczyk used is called "hypermiling" - economical driving that includes constant speed, minimal acceleration, and little use of air conditioning.
