With an investment of 35 million shekels: the Haredi food chain expands

The young food chain '100 and Beyond', owned by Daniel Verdiguer, is purchasing 11 branches of the 'City Market' chain for approximately 35 million shekels, including inventory. The deal includes branches in Be'er Ya'akov, Ramla, Kfar Saba, Be'er Sheva, Kiryat Ono, Rehovot, Hadera, Or Yehuda, Tel Aviv-Yafo, and Gedera, which will operate under the '100 and Beyond' brand. Verdiguer, formerly CEO of 'Yesh Chesed' of Shufersal, left his position about a year and a half ago due to disagreements with the Amir brothers. The chain, established in early 2026, plans to operate in three formats: discount, neighborhood stores, and online. The current acquisition is intended to expand neighborhood operations, and simultaneously, negotiations are underway to add discount stores. Currently, the chain operates one discount store in Ashdod, and advanced negotiations are ongoing regarding branches in the south and Jerusalem with an area of about 3,000 square meters. All 11 acquired branches are closed on Saturdays, unlike the City Market model where about 70% of branches are open on Saturdays. The completion of the deal is subject to approval by the Competition Commissioner.
