Police officers from the Tel Aviv South station in the Ayalon district, together with Border Guard fighters from the Central district, thwarted a severe violent incident last night (Sunday) after arresting two suspects who were riding an electric scooter while armed with a loaded gun ready to fire. The operation took place during a patrol in the city, when forces spotted the two suspects riding together and committing traffic violations that endangered the surroundings. As forces arrived and the suspects noticed the police, they began to flee in a wild ride on the scooter. During their escape, they crossed intersections on red lights and rode against traffic, genuinely endangering road users. After a short chase, Border Guard fighters performed an operational blockade that led to their immediate arrest. During a search of the suspects' bodies, a loaded gun with ammunition was found in the pocket of one of them. The two suspects, aged 19 and 36, were arrested at the scene and transferred for further investigation at the Tel Aviv South station. Later today, the police are expected to bring them before a judge at court to request an extension of their detention for investigative purposes.
