Lt. Col. (res.) Amit Yagor assesses that Iran may exploit the upcoming elections in Israel to act against it, but not necessarily through a direct military attack. According to him, Tehran may prefer to activate terrorist organizations, sleeper cells, and influence operations on social networks. Yagor explained that a military attack could actually unite the Israeli public behind the flag, and therefore the Iranians are deliberating how their action would affect the public. Alongside this, he pointed to internal difficulties in Iran, including developments in the southeast of the country and stagnation in the salaries of security forces personnel, which could influence the regime's considerations and lead it to open a conflict to unite the public around it. Yagor emphasized that this is a complex system of considerations, and that the security establishment is preparing for every scenario.
