A vehicle registered to the Prime Minister's Office was shot at in Ashkelon in what police suspect was an attempted assassination of Mor Domrani, son of alleged crime boss Shalom Domrani. A vehicle registered to the Prime Minister's Office was shot at in Ashkelon on Monday evening in what Israel Police suspect was an assassination attempt targeting Mor Domrani, the son of alleged crime boss Shalom Domrani, according to a report by N12. Police found that the vehicle was registered to Boaz Assayag, one of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's drivers, who had previously testified in Netanyahu's corruption trial. The vehicle was not part of the prime minister's motorcade at the time of the incident. Police determined that Assayag's son had been driving the vehicle, with Mor Domrani and other passengers inside. The occupants fled the scene together following the shooting. The vehicle later arrived at the Erez Border Crossing, where police discovered ammunition in the car and an airsoft rifle in the possession of one of the suspects. In their assessment, Israel Police determined that the gunmen opened fire with the intention of killing Domrani. Police stated that they arrested nine suspects, including Assayag's son. The vehicle involved in the shooting is being held by police as part of the investigation.
