Thousands of Chabad emissaries from around the world are gathering in New York for the annual conference, under a tight security envelope. The emissaries, who operate in diverse outposts from Israeli settlements to remote communities in Belarus, Croatia, and Brazil, will arrive at the event opening this evening (Wednesday). This year's conference focuses on discussions around contemporary social trends, chief among them developments in artificial intelligence. At the center of the study days, formulated by the conference committee under the leadership of Rabbi Menachem Kotlarsky, stands the encounter between the conservative educational world and technological progress. Under the title "Protecting Our Children in the Age of Artificial Intelligence," a discussion is taking place on the effects of AI tools on the social and psychological structure of the next generation. Meanwhile, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Jacobson will lead an educational workshop on the inner world of teenagers. Another aspect is the exposure of historical materials from the personal secretariat archive of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, to be presented by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Groner. Models for expanding community circles are also presented. The conference highlights will take place over the weekend: a mass prayer at the Rebbe's grave in Queens, a sharing evening on Saturday night, and the traditional group photo on Sunday.
