Turku Avci, a Turkish citizen who operates on social networks in support of Israel, has been granted political asylum in Israel. In an interview with the program "Binyamini and Guetta" on Kan News, she described the relief she felt when her request was approved, but also the ongoing concern for her family's safety in Turkey. According to her, an arrest warrant was issued against her due to her support for Israel and criticism of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and she cannot return to her country. Islamist elements published online photos of her and her family members, as well as details of their residence, leading to a severance of contact with them out of fear for their safety. Avci arrived in Israel five years ago to study at the Hebrew University, and after the October 7 attack, she began speaking out in support of Israel. She made it clear that she does not regret her activities and said she does this also for her family and Turkey. Her dream is to light a torch on Independence Day.
