Barry Avrich's documentary 'The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue' is now available for streaming in the US on Paramount+. The film arrived on the service on September 29, ahead of the third anniversary of the Hamas attack. The documentary follows retired IDF Maj.-Gen. Noam Tibon and his wife, Gali, as they undertake a desperate journey to Kibbutz Nahal Oz to rescue their son, Haaretz journalist Amir Tibon, his wife, and their two young daughters, who were hiding in their safe room during the October 7 Hamas attack. Along the way, Noam and Gali helped survivors fleeing the Nova music festival and wounded soldiers. The film won the People's Choice Award for best documentary at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival. Its success followed a controversy in which it was initially removed from the festival's lineup over clearance demands concerning Hamas bodycam footage, then reinstated after widespread protests.
