Trump and Netanyahu spoke, the president made clear to the PM that he wants progress in Gaza

Trump told Netanyahu in a phone call that he expects progress on his peace plan for Gaza, which includes disarming Hamas and transferring control to a Palestinian technocrat government. Implementation was frozen due to the elections in Israel, and now Trump wants to advance the plan regardless of the identity of the next government.

US President Donald Trump told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a phone call on Thursday that he wants Netanyahu to take steps to help implement his peace plan for the Gaza Strip, according to two sources familiar with the details. The plan includes a process for disarming Hamas and demilitarizing the Strip, and transferring responsibility for its management to a new Palestinian government of technocrats. Implementation of the plan was frozen for months due to the elections in Israel, and the Trump administration did not want it to become a volatile political issue during the election campaign. Now, after the elections have ended, Trump wants to move forward with his plan regardless of the identity of the government that will be formed. Trump's peace council is working on an implementation plan that includes establishing a Palestinian technocrat government and an international stabilization force. Last July, the council reached an agreement with Hamas on a 15-point plan for disarming the armed organizations. Netanyahu is skeptical about the possibility that Hamas will implement the demilitarization agreement and claims that the organization is rearming. A senior American official said the process will be carried out gradually with full verification, and reconstruction of the Strip will not begin until progress is made in disarming Hamas. The call was initiated by Netanyahu and also dealt with the war with Iran.
