The Gilboa Regional Council is launching the G-LINE transportation system, which will connect 33 communities via 13 lines, free of charge for residents. The service will begin on Sunday, October 4, in a pilot phase with eight lines and 18 buses, operating in the afternoon and evening hours.
The Gilboa Regional Council is launching this coming Sunday, October 4, the regional G-LINE transportation system, which will operate free of charge for residents. The pilot phase will include eight lines and 18 yellow buses, connecting the council's 33 communities to educational centers, extracurricular activities, culture, sports, and leisure hubs. The service will operate Sunday through Thursday, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The lines will meet at two central transit terminals, in Yael and Ein Harod, with Line 4 connecting them. The council stated that arrival times at the terminals have been coordinated to allow transfers between lines. Each line has been assigned a number and color, and dedicated stops and signage have been placed in the communities. Schedules will be integrated into the Moovit app. Council head Danny Atar said the goal is to reduce dependence on private cars and parental transportation, allowing children, teenagers, and senior citizens to reach activities independently. The pilot period will be used to evaluate the service and adapt it to residents' needs.
