According to the source, the French sentence 'le Hamas n'a jamais sévi en Cisjordanie' means 'Hamas never ruled the West Bank,' but was incorrectly translated as 'Hamas was never proactive' or 'was not active.' The French president spoke last night (Wednesday) and sparked a storm among Israeli officials. In his speech, Macron also referred to the Gaza Strip, saying that recognizing a Palestinian state on paper is not enough and that inaction regarding Gaza is 'shameful.'
