Tracking device, explosive charge and a powerful blast: the indictment for the murder in Holon

The prosecution filed an indictment against Ghazi Ashkar (34) from Jaffa, accused of murdering Mustafa Abu Lisan using an explosive device planted in his car and detonated at a gas station in Holon about two and a half months ago. The indictment reveals that Ashkar and his accomplices tracked the victim, attached a tracking device and an explosive charge to his car, and detonated it remotely. After the murder, Ashkar attempted to destroy evidence.

The prosecution filed an indictment this morning at the Tel Aviv District Court against Ghazi Ashkar (34) from Jaffa, accused of murdering the late Mustafa Abu Lisan using an explosive device. According to the indictment, filed by attorney Aviv Bar Or, Ashkar and his accomplices planned to cause Abu Lisan's death, located him, tracked him, and attached a tracking device and an explosive charge to his car. On June 28, 2026, at 11:45 AM, when Abu Lisan arrived at a gas station in Holon, the accomplices detonated the explosive device remotely, causing a powerful blast that led to his death. The explosion caused heavy damage to seven additional vehicles, two of which were completely burned. After the murder, Ashkar acted to obstruct justice: he transferred the vehicle used in the murder to a car dealer and ordered him to destroy the license plates. The indictment charges Ashkar with aggravated murder as part of a group, conspiracy to commit a crime, changing a vehicle's identity, and obstruction of justice. The prosecution is requesting that Ashkar be detained until the end of proceedings.
