A third suspect was arrested early Tuesday morning in central Israel in the case of the thwarted attack on Route 1. Last night two suspects were arrested near the Latrun interchange, on suspicion that they intended to carry out an attack within the immediate time frame. The arrests were made following Shin Bet intelligence. The two had not yet managed to arm themselves, and no weapon was seized in the arrests. Following their interrogation, suspicion arose of the involvement of an additional suspect, and he was arrested in a city in central Israel. The security establishment still defines the incident as active. In the vehicle stopped at Latrun there were also other illegal residents who were arrested, but suspicion of their involvement was ruled out. There were no casualties among the forces.
