Unknown individuals broke into a storage room in the residential building of Rina Schwartz, a 94-year-old Holocaust survivor from Afula, and stole the mobility scooter she used in her daily life. The theft occurred on the night between Friday and Saturday, in a locked storage room beneath the building on Kinamon Street in the city. Her son, Moshe Schwartz, said: "These are heartless people" and added that "this scooter is literally my mother's legs." The scooter allowed Rina to maintain her independence, attend classes, go shopping, and visit family, and it held emotional value because her late husband had purchased it for her. The family filed a complaint with the Afula police and is asking for the public's help in locating the scooter.
