"The writing was on the wall": Syrian-American journalist warns of Qatari influence on congressional elections

Syrian-American journalist Haiby Bozo claims in an interview with Kan News that the results of the US midterm elections reflect foreign interference, particularly by Qatar, in American discourse. According to her, disinformation campaigns and favorable coverage on Al Jazeera contributed to the election of extremist candidates who do not support US values. She warned of a direct impact on the Middle East and the strengthening of an isolationist approach.

Syrian-American journalist Haiby Bozo claims that the results of the US midterm elections reflect a 'penetration' of foreign countries into American discourse. In an interview with the program 'In Our Neighborhood' on Kan News, she said 'the writing was already on the wall.' According to her, disinformation campaigns on social media, infiltration of academic institutions and traditional media, including watching channels like Al Jazeera more than American channels, translate into the election of members of Congress who do not support the US and its values. Bozo specifically pointed to Qatar, which she claims is trying to influence the elections through favorable coverage on Al Jazeera for extremist candidates. She warned that the change in Congress will have a direct impact on the Middle East, as the far left and far right strengthen and coalesce around an isolationist approach. According to her, these forces do not see Iran as an enemy and do not support a central role for the US in the world. Bozo also addressed Israel, saying that Israel and the US are undergoing a similar polarization process, but Israel remains strong and its status as a leader will grow.
