Elon Musk has injected more than $276 million into Republican organizations since July, a sum that makes him the largest known donor in the current midterm elections. According to a New York Times report, Musk's representatives provided the figures just before the deadline for submitting federal filings. As part of the effort to save the Republican majority in the Senate, Musk donated $158 million to the Senate Leadership Fund, the body that supports the party's candidates. This is one of the largest political donations in American history, higher than all the funds raised by the competing Democratic body in the same quarter. In addition, Musk donated $76 million to the 'America PAC' organization he founded in 2024, to build a propaganda program to energize Republican voters. The organization is active in seven key states and in about 36 House races, and reported reaching about 6.5 million doors. Musk published only seven posts this year relating to candidates on X, evidence of quiet involvement behind the scenes.
