The ceremony was attended by senior ministers in the Cameroonian government, and the local foreign minister emphasized that the award is reserved for individuals whose exceptional service and contributions merit the highest recognition from the Cameroonian nation. Behind the diplomatic gesture lies extensive work by the Israeli embassy in recent years, which promoted civilian, humanitarian, and technological projects across the country. Among the projects: promoting robotics and mathematics competitions for students, donating computers and advanced technological equipment, establishing a multimedia lab named after Jerusalem at a local university, distributing sports equipment to children at a football academy, and inaugurating a table tennis club for youth named after Kibbutz Be'eri. Alongside this, the embassy marked 40 years since the establishment of official relations between Israel and Cameroon. Ambassador Kalmar stated that "Cameroon is a true friend of the State of Israel," and that Israel is perceived there as a "brand of success." He defined the awarding of the decoration as a unique step indicating a shared desire to deepen ties.
