Families of the October 7 massacre victims announced the establishment of the 'Sukkat HaMechdal' (Negligence Booth) at the Hostages Square in Tel Aviv, a new protest following publications in two major US media outlets. The New York Times revealed a conversation between UAE leader Mohammed bin Zayed and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which bin Zayed warned of a major Hamas attack – a warning that Netanyahu denied and did not mention at a security briefing on October 1. An Atlantic investigation revealed that Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamel secretly landed in Israel 11 days before the massacre and warned of a major attack, and Egypt continued to warn until two days before the massacre. At the booth, bereaved family members and former hostages spoke, including Shelly Matalon Yogev, Einav Tsangauker, and Gil Dickmann, who called for the removal of everyone who was at the helm on October 7 from public life. Yashar chairman Gadi Eisenkot visited the booth and pledged to establish a state commission of inquiry in the first weeks after the formation of the next government.
