The leading candidate of liberal voters - and the collapse of the coalition

A ynet and Yedioth Ahronoth poll, conducted by the Dialog Institute among 500 respondents aged 18 and over who define themselves as liberals, reveals clear support for opposition parties. Yashar! led by Gadi Eisenkot leads with 30%, followed by the Democrats led by Yair Golan with 20%, Together led by Naftali Bennett with 14%, and Yisrael Beiteinu with 9%. Likud led by Benjamin Netanyahu receives only 4%, and all coalition parties together get about 8%. 11% have not yet decided. The poll was conducted on September 22-23, 2026. The main explanation for the low support for the coalition lies in its religious and Haredi character: 77% of respondents feel that the government's actions on Haredi conscription and equality of burden do not represent their views, and 74% feel this way regarding the judicial reform. The cost of living (28%) and Haredi conscription (28%) are the most significant issues for voting decisions.
