The Higher Follow-Up Committee for Arab Citizens, after a meeting of its secretariat in Baqa al-Gharbiyye, announced the launch of a campaign against "fascist racist incitement," in cooperation with popular bodies, civil organizations, and political forces. The meeting was opened by the committee's chairman, Dr. Jamal Zahalka, who stated that the current racist wave is led by influential Israeli political elites and fascist media mouthpieces, and that their main concern is manufacturing hatred and spreading the poisons of sick grudges. He strongly condemned the political persecution of Arab leaders and the arbitrary arrest of the head of the Islamic Authority in Jaffa, journalist Abd Abu Shahada, as well as the campaign driven by Netanyahu's Shin Bet against MK Ayman Odeh. The meeting discussed burning issues facing the Arab community and adopted decisions including launching a campaign against fascist incitement, confronting land confiscation and demolition in the Tayibe plain, opposing uprooting projects in the Negev, combating crime, opposing settlement projects in the Galilee, and defending Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa.
