The battle for the ballot boxes: Eisenkot's people seek Gantz's polling station slots, fear they will reach Netanyahu's bloc

Two weeks before the elections, members of the Yashar! party led by Gadi Eisenkot approached Blue and White officials requesting a portion of the polling committee slots allocated to Benny Gantz's party. Yashar! has no slots because it was not represented in the outgoing Knesset. Meanwhile, the Change Bloc fears that Blue and White's slots will reach Netanyahu's bloc. In the absence of slots, Change Bloc organizations are storming volunteer observer positions.

Two weeks before the Knesset elections, the Yashar! party led by Gadi Eisenkot recently approached Blue and White officials led by Benny Gantz, requesting a portion of the polling committee slots allocated to Gantz's party. Yashar! has no slots at all, because the party was not represented in the outgoing Knesset. Behind the request lies a shortage of polling committee slots for the Change Bloc relative to the coalition. Polling committee members are paid positions of 1,883 shekels during the day and 377 shekels for those present at the counting. Blue and White stated that they are trying to fill the positions themselves. Eisenkot's people conveyed a message asking Blue and White not to transfer the slots to Netanyahu's bloc parties. The party stated that no approach from the Change Bloc on this matter was received. Likud, with 32 seats, receives 9,615 slots. Yesh Atid, with 24 seats, receives 7,211. Blue and White, with eight seats, receives 2,404. In total, 36,054 slots are distributed across 12,018 polling stations. In the absence of slots, the liberal camp turns to volunteer observer roles, with assistance from the "Civil Election Watch" organization and protest groups like "Brothers in Arms."
