The attack of the wounded survivor of the Ofakim massacre on Kushmaro: "You are disconnected from the people"
Rabbi Shahar Botzach, a resident of Ofakim who was wounded in the battle against Hamas terrorists, attacked Channel 12 news anchor Danny Kushmaro in an interview on Channel 14. Kushmaro had wondered how residents of the Mishor HaGefen neighborhood, where 33 people were murdered, voted 65% for the right. Botzach accused the media of being disconnected from the people and explained that the massacre actually strengthened their support for the right.
Rabbi Shahar Botzach, a resident of the Mishor HaGefen neighborhood in Ofakim who was wounded in the battle against Hamas terrorists on October 7, sharply attacked Channel 12 news anchor Danny Kushmaro in an interview on the program "Morning Edition" on Channel 14. Kushmaro had wondered how residents of the neighborhood, where 33 people were murdered, gave 65% of their votes to the right-wing bloc. Rabbi Botzach replied that precisely because of the massacre, residents of the south vote for the right, and that the left offers handing over to the Palestinian Authority and terrorists. He accused Kushmaro and the media of being disconnected from the people and of trying to "stitch together a government with Mansour Abbas and the Joint List," calling it "an act of betrayal of the people of Israel." The rabbi recounted the moments of the battle in which he charged with a pistol at armed terrorists, was wounded in the leg by fire from a terrorist wearing IDF uniforms, and was saved from death. He noted that he is still in long-term rehabilitation, but the residents do not regret their heroism.
