Syria: Israeli incursions hinder reconstruction and threaten stability
Syria condemned the escalation of Israeli incursions in Quneitra and the Daraa countryside, warning of their repercussions on security, stability, and reconstruction, and called on the international community to assume its responsibilities.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry on Sunday condemned the escalation of Israeli incursions in Quneitra province and the countryside of Daraa province in southern Syria over the past days, which coincided with intensive flights of Israeli helicopter, reconnaissance, and combat aircraft in the skies of southern Syria. In a statement, the ministry described these moves as "a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic and the integrity of its territory, and a threat to the security and safety of citizens." It stressed that the continuation of these violations "undermines opportunities for achieving stability and security in the region in general and Syria in particular, and hinders reconstruction and recovery efforts." It called on the international community to assume its responsibilities to put an end to the violations and compel Israel to comply with international law and relevant UN resolutions. The Syrian "Al-Ikhbariya" channel reported on Sunday evening that "the Israeli occupation forces launched 3 flare bombs west of the village of Al-Asha in the southern Quneitra countryside."
