Just days after the verdict: San Tavel, convicted in the case of stealing the sound systems of the late Matan Mordechai Lior from the Nova festival, failed to report for his 28-month prison sentence. Police from the Netanya station arrived at his home and he was not present, raising suspicions that he had fled from serving his sentence. As reported, on Monday it was published that Tavel left the courthouse without permission and did not deposit the bail imposed on him, hours after his verdict, leading to an immediate arrest warrant being issued against him. Sara and Ofer Lior, parents of the late Matan Lior, stated: "It was clear he would run away, we saw what kind of lowlifes these are." Attorney Michal Hagai Margolin, representing the Lior family, stated that Tavel did everything in his power to evade justice time and again over the past three years, caused a miscarriage of justice and continued suffering for the family, and that he is now a convicted criminal on the run from lawful custody. Tavel is the third convict in the case, which was investigated by officers of the Ofakim station. The sentence included 28 months of actual imprisonment, suspended sentence, a fine of 10,000 shekels, compensation of 30,000 shekels, and confiscation of his vehicle.
